- separation anxiety - he whines and howls if we're out of the house, and often when he is sleeping downstairs on his own at night he'll whine and we have to go and see to him
- aggression - he was very aggressive when we adopted him, snapping at us. Over the months, he has found trust in us and this has eased off. However, he still has his moments at times, for example he sometimes doesn't like being picked up a certain way, or us touching his feet. He needs gentleness and safety.
- kids - also when we first got him, we know he had been mistreated by a child with learnings difficulties, so he wasn't keen on children. he snapped at our kid once or twice, no damage done but he bared his teeth and snapped, and has growled. Be wary if you have kids, he may be more suited to a home without.
If you can't be at home all of the time, or train him out of this, then I'd suggest he's not suitable. the kids thing is more important though and also to be careful and gentle with him in case he might snap or bare his teeth. it's not often he's done it but really consider that.
The good parts:
- He's extremely friendly and playful. He goes on a lot of walks currently, loves playing around in the forest or at the beach.
- He loves playing with toys, loves running around after them, and can have a lot of playful energy.
- He is fine with eating food, he doesn't growl or have a problem or aggression around food.
- He loves to cuddle up with people on the sofa and be stroked, he gives a lot of love.
I love him and want him to go to a loving home where he'll get the attention and care he needs, unfortunately it can't be us now.
We hope to find someone loving who wants a loving companion, and someone who can love him and take care of him. We are open to people meeting him and having a talk through all of the points with us to see if you think he'd be a lovely little companion for you.
